{Abstract}

The Wisdom Method 305 hour Yoga Teacher Training & Apprenticeship Program is a Vinyasa-based training program focusing on the importance of self-study, dedicated & applied practice, mindfulness based movement modalities, and developing kinesthethic intelligence. Instruction in the major philosophical & physical Hatha Yoga systems is implicit in the training, with the most emphasis given to the Krishnamacharya lineage {Ashtanga Vinyasa-Viniyoga-Iyengar-Classical Yoga & Ayurveda}.

Breathing practices, anatomy, meditation techniques, and teaching methodology are included in the program; an additional emphasis on Ayurveda, holistic nutrition & wellness training and an applied practicum & apprenticheship make this program unique. The emphasis on lifestyle {in the form of Ayurveda}, integration of the yogic path, and yoga as a therapeutic tool for personal and spiritual wellbeing are the cornerstones of this program while the emphasis on anatomy and kinesiology make the program comprehensive. You will leave this training with a strong foundation in both Western and Eastern anatomy and have the confidence to suit the practice of yoga to your own changing life and the lives of your students.

This program fulfills and exceeds Yoga Alliance’s requirements for a 200-hour yoga teacher training.

The program is taught in a 9-weekend format {20 hours per weekend} plus an apprenticeship with program-approved instructor and an individualized practicum. The Wisdom Method Foundations training will provide students with a multidimensional approach to the study and practice of yoga while providing a solid foundation on which to base their own unique style of yoga instruction.
